Land
Splashing Elk Ranch consists of approximately 468 +/- acres that features roughly 2.5 +/- miles of Yampa River Frontage. The land is mostly comprised of uniform flatlands that has previously been used as an exceptional grazing operation in the spring, summer, and fall, and has been well complimented by the 25+ CFS of water! Also within the perimeters of the ranch, numerous Russian Olive Trees are dispersed throughout the property, as well as a couple ponds. The surrounding land consists of rolling sagebrush hills and cedar draws that feed directly into the vicinity of the ranch. With the addition of a sparsely wooded meadow that contains tall cottonwoods and riverbank that consists of dense willows, it is not uncommon the find various species of wildlife such as elk, deer, and antelope hiding within them.
Recreation
Located in GMU 11, Splashing Elk Ranch does qualify for the Landowner Preference Program for deer and antelope vouchers, and has over-the-counter elk tags available for multiple seasons. Additionally, the ranch borders hundreds of thousands of acres of BLM lands. Due to the location of the property, the ranch offers unlimited recreational opportunities for anyone to enjoy. With direct access to the Yampa River, jump in a raft and enjoy an afternoon float, or even test your luck with fishing! Many other popular attractions such as Dinosaur National Monument, Gates of Lodore, and Vermillion Falls are all less than 1 hour from the property as well!
Location
The small town of Maybell, CO is located only 20 minutes to the east of the property. Craig, CO is nearly 50 minutes to the east of the ranch and is the closest town that provides grocery stores, a hospital, gas stations, and restaurants. Meeker, CO is located just over 1 hour to the southeast. For commercial air travel, Yampa Valley Regional Airport is located approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes east of the property and is located in Hayden, CO. For additional amenities and activities, Steamboat Springs, CO and Vernal, UT are located just under 2 hours from the east and west of the ranch.
